I had Pierogies for the first time when I was over at my Ukrainian colleague’s house after work. And I fell in love with the flavor of potato and cheese-filled pierogies.
And now a pack of frozen pierogies is a staple in my freezer section, along with my other favorite frozen food.

Pierogi are dumplings filled with a savory or sweet filling. They are a staple food in Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe cuisines. Pierogies are also very popular in American and Canadian cuisine.
Homemade pierogies are made from unleavened dough with various fillings like mashed potatoes, cheese, meat, or vegetables.
Usually, pierogies are boiled and then pan-fried before serving as a snack or side dish. But with the ease of cooking in an Air Fryer, you don’t have to boil or pan fry frozen or fresh pierogies. Instead, you can just put the pierogies in the Air fryer and let it do the magic. You will have your frozen or fresh pierogies ready to serve in less than 10 minutes!

All you have to do is toss the frozen pierogies in the Air Fryer basket, spray olive oil over pierogies and turn the Air Fryer on. It will be ready in 10 minutes or under.

How to Make 10 Minutes Air Fryer Frozen Pierogies?
Here is a step-by-step method of cooking 10 Minutes Air Fryer frozen pierogies.
Preheat an Air Fryer at 400°F (200°C).
Arrange frozen pierogies in the Air fryer basket in a single layer. (You can lay parchment paper in Air Fryer basket if you prefer)
Then generously apply olive oil over frozen pierogies until they are fully covered.
Let it cook for 10 minutes by flipping them halfway through.
Let it cook until it is done. You may need to increase or decrease cooking time depending on the Air Fryer you have. Cook them until they reach your desired crispness.
Tips for Cooking Air Fryer Frozen Pierogies
You do not need to thaw frozen pierogies before cooking them in Air Fryer.
Coat pierogies evenly with olive oil before cooking to make sure it cooks crispy from the outside.
Arrange pierogies in a single layer in an air fryer basket. Too much crowding the basket will result in soggy pierogies. If you need more, cook them in batches.
Sometimes pierogies pop in the Air Fryer, resulting in filling coming out of its shell. To ensure it does not pop, make a few tiny holes on perogies for hot air to escape before cooking in Air Fryer. I do not usually poke holes in pierogies when cooking for the kid. But when I am cooking for guests and want a perfect look of pierogies, I poke small holes on frozen pierogies, and they come out perfect every time.
How long can you cook frozen pierogies in an air fryer?
Depending on the Air fryer model, make, and type, cooking time may vary. So, it may take more than or less than 10 minutes to cook.
If you are cooking frozen pierogies in the Air Fryer for the first time, check them often at the end of cooking to adjust the cooking time for desired crispness.

If you are cooking frozen pierogies in Air Fryer, here is a general temperature and time suggestion for cooking. But like I said before, cooking time and temperature vary depending upon the model, make, and type of Air Fryer. So, you use these temperatures and time as a reference guide only. It is best to check before cooking time is up for any Air Fryer recipe.
Frozen Pierogies – 400°F (200°C) for 9-10 mins
Mini Pierogies – 400°F (200°C) for 6-7 mins
Fresh Pierogies – First cook at 360°F for 5 mins then at 400°F for 4-5 mins for crispness
Can you reheat Pierogies in Air Fryer?
If you have leftover pierogies from last night’s meal, you can reheat them in the Air Fryer. Place the leftover pierogies in an Air Fryer basket, spray them with cooking oil, and reheat them at 360°F (180°C) for 2-3 minutes or until warm and crisp.

Can you Cook Pierogies without oil in Air Fryer?
Yes, you could. But cooking pierogies without oil in Air Fryer may not cook outside layer of pierogies to your desired crispness. You may want to use cooking spray if you don’t want to use too much oil while cooking in Air Fryer.

No, you do not need to boil frozen pierogies before Air Frying. Air Fryer will cook them crispy from the outside and soft from inside.
